In the interest of user safety, preventing abuse related to the use of the platform, and compliance with legal regulations, including European Union regulations concerning Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT), FlashSkins has implemented internal procedures and mechanisms for transaction monitoring and user identification (Know Your Customer – KYC).
These activities also aim to fulfill FlashSkins’ due diligence in meeting tax obligations, particularly under the VAT OSS procedure.
FlashSkins is a marketplace platform that enables the purchase and sale of virtual assets (hereinafter referred to as “Skins”) for the game Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). FlashSkins acts as an intermediary in the purchase process, where the user acquires Skins from external operators, and also in the sales process, where the user sells Skins to other users. Funds are transferred through external operators supporting, among others, payments via online banking, credit/debit cards, traditional transfers, and crypto-assets. FlashSkins charges a commission on transactions conducted on the platform but does not hold users’ funds.
FlashSkins has implemented an automated identity verification system (KYC) using the tool Sumsub, which, by processing user data on the platform, conducts identification based on identity documents, risk analysis, source of funds verification, and ongoing transaction compliance monitoring. Account top-up does not imply an obligation to complete identity verification. The KYC procedure is initiated only at the time of purchasing a virtual asset on the platform.
